NEW YORK- Sirius Satellite radio has still not determined the future of Howard Stern. Stern the self proclaimed "king of all media" is in the final months of a contract that will expire on December 31, 2010.
Shareholders and stakeholders are interested in the future of the Stern radio show due to the influence he has had on its growth as a business. Some argue that due to Stern's $100 million a year production budget that the company will benefit from his retirment. Investors have noted the relatively strong results of the company has seen of late as it has reported three profitable quarters in a row after being mired in years of losses. The company has lost over $10 billion in its history.
As Sirius finally begins to turn its gears after years of losses, the question is will Sterns departure be the stick that breaks the camels back?
