What do Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), Limelight Networks (NASDAQ: LLNW), and VMWare (NYSE: VMW) Have In Common?
Salesforces.com is a heated cloud computing play. However, the stock is down sharply from it's high of $123.77, and now trades at $107.94. Salesforce.com offers unique cloud computing applications for its customers, which allow them to collaborate and analyze statistics to help improve their businesses.
Limelight Networks, Inc. helps to provide media content for companies, such as television, music, radio, movies, video games and more. Limelight delivers content to users of its products and services. The company is seen as a cloud computing play, and has not backed down one bit. The stock is trading at $6.22, just a few cents off it's high. The company continues to grow at a rapid pace as customers begin to require their expertise.
VMWare, Inc. provides Virtual machine applications for businesses. A customer may use virtual machines as a method of sharing its hardware resources on a single computer or server, among various applications. Cloud computing is based on this model of sharing a single resource (for which companies pay a single bill) and allocating it among many different customers. VMWare closed at $75.90, down from its high in September of $89.18.
