When will Apple get the iPhone 4? (NASDAQ: AAPL) (NYSE: VZ) (NASDAQ: QCOM)

Rumour has it that Verizon, the giant wireless company will receive the iPhone 4 sometime in early 2011. Other reports have cited that Apple has ordered QualComm chips needed for the phone to function on Verizon's network. Verizon has over 90 million wireless subscribers, and a powerful network that can accommodate the added iPhone usage. iPhones can use up to 10 times the average bandwidth of a regular phone. This comes from voice, video, and other data browsing capabilities that users with smartphones love.

If Verizon gets the iPhone, both Apple and VZ will benefit greatly. Smartphone revenue for Verizon is said to be approximately double the revenue from a regular 'dumb' phone. The deal would also unlock millions of potential customers for Apple. Apple has been able to beat analyst expectations without the help of Verizon so far. Who knows what could happen if Verizon gets the newest iPhone.
