Research In Motion Slumps Surprise Loss Forecast (RIMM, NEON, FB, SIRI)



Research In Motion Limited (USA) (NASDAQ:RIMM) shares declined 7.84% to $10.35 in the morning hour after the company hired bankers to provide strategic review and are looking for partnerships as the company is likely report a loss in the fiscal first-quarter financial results.Moreover, the company would also slash a substantial number of jobs, though it did not say how many. Two sources with close connections to the company have said that it plans to cut its workforce closer to 10,000 by early next year from 16,500 currently.

Neonode, Inc (NASDAQ:NEON) shares soared 28.03% to $6.12 in the morning hour after Solimar Energy Limited announced that it has come to an agreement with Neon Energy Limited involving a revised project ownership structure which better matches each company's corporate objectives and provides Solimar with funding through the two new wells that are currently being drilled or in completion.

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) shares climbed 1.28% to $29.21 in the early hour.  Milberg LLP announces that class action lawsuits were filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on behalf of purchasers of Facebook common stock pursuant to the Company's May 18, 2012 initial public offering (the "IPO"). The actions allege that the Registration Statement and Prospectus issued with the IPO were false because they did not disclose that the Company experienced a reduction in revenue growth, and that underwriters lowered revenue guidance during Facebook's road show.

Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI) shares fell 2.59% to $1.88 in the early hour.  The company yesterday announced that Ford and Lincoln dealers will provide customers a 3-month SiriusXM subscription when they purchase any pre-owned vehicle with a factory-installed satellite radio from more than 1,200 participating dealerships across the United States. Ford and Lincoln customers purchasing any pre-owned vehicle with a factory-installed satellite radio will have access to commercial-free music, and premier sports, news, talk, entertainment plus traffic and weather information broadcast by SiriusXM.
