Allaire, Brightcove chairman and chief executive officer is
extremely ecstatic about the acquisition and he is positive that it will further
elevate Brightcove as the top cloud platform that offers scalable standalone
building blocks for building custom systems and also offers rich, end-to-end
solutions for digital content publishing and distribution. The two companies
have come together to form a powerful network so as to implement their
strategies in a way like never before thereby enabling consumers to access

And what does Zencoder have to say about it? According to
Jon Dahl, chief executive officer and co-founder of Zencoder, the feeling is
mutual because their objective has always been to create the best package of
media processing services in the cloud, all the while keeping a focus on
prevailing, API-based tools for developers. Dahl says that he believes that
their coming together with Brightclove will be immensely beneficial as the
Brightclove team shares their dream and passion.
Recent reports state that Brightclove will carry on
developing, supporting, operating, and promoting Video.js services as well as
Zencoder encoding in their present form as separate products. The organization
has plans of incorporating Zencoder technologies and solutions with some
Brightclove products in order to give consumers the best of both! Brightclove
will take steps to speed up the delivery of the Zencoder product roadmap. The
offices of Zencoder in San Francisco will now be known as the Brightcove Bay
Area Development Center and will also join similar centers in Boston and
Seattle.
