F5 Networks, Inc.(NASDAQ:FFIV) shares declined 1.09% to
$97.52 in the after hour trading after the company posted third quarter profit
of $72.3 million, or $0.91 a share, as compared to $62.5 million, or $0.77 a
share, in the same quarter a year earlier. Adjusted per-share earnings rose to
$1.14 from $0.97 a share in the year ago period. Revenue increased 21% to
$352.6 million. In April, the company had called for earnings of $1.12 to $1.14
a share on revenue of $350 million to $355 million.

Covanta Holding Corporation (NYSE:CVA) reported second
quarter net income of $18 million or $0.14 per share, as compared to $18
million or $0.13 per share in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings
were $0.15 per share. Total operating revenues dropped to $410 million, from
$411 million in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts expected the company
to report $0.12 per share on revenue estimate of $417.50 million for the
quarter.

American Express Company(NYSE:AXP) shares fell 0.53% to
$57.98 in the after hour trading after the company posted a second quarter
profit of $1.34 billion, or $1.15 per share, as against $1.33 billion, or
$1.10, in the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue, net of interest expense,
was $7.97 billion, up 4.6% from a year earlier. Analysts were expecting
earnings of $1.09 per share.

International Business Machines Corp.(NYSE:IBM) shares
gained 2.82% to $193.55 in the after hour trading after the company reported a
second-quarter profit of $3.88 billion, or $3.34 a share, as compared with a
profit of $3.66 billion, or $3 a share, for the year-earlier period. Revenue
was $25.8 billion, down from $26.7 billion. Adjusted operating profit was $3.51
a share. Analysts were expecting the company to report a profit of $3.43 a
share, on revenue of $26.3 billion.

LaSalle Hotel Properties (NYSE:LHO) posted a second quarter
Funds from operations, or FFO, of $56.1 million or $0.65 per share, from $44.7
million or $0.54 per share in the year-earlier quarter. Adjusted FFO for the
quarter was $61.8 million or $0.72 per share. Analysts expected the company to
earn $0.75 per share for the quarter. Revenues totaled $242.1 million, up from
$202.6 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $250.63 million.
