Updates on Rumors About AAPL
According to Horace Dediu from Asymco, the sales
figure of the Apple iPhone 5 will shoot up to 200 million in just a year! Since
Apple products have more or less dominated the market, as is evident due to
their astounding success and high sales figures, Dediu has predicted that the
upcoming iPhone will take over 85% of the market.
These figures are not mere speculations or
guesses on Dediu’s part. He has analyzed the quote of Phil Schiller, the
marketing chief of Apple, during the Apple vs. Samsung trial. Schiller has
stated that, “each new generation sold approximately equal to all previous
generations combined.”
Schiller has not exaggerated one bit. The iPhone
3G sales figure quadrupled as compared to the original iPhone and when iPhone
3GS was introduced, it outsold the previous two at a margin of 1.6. As expected
iPhone 4 reached greater heights than its predecessors and even the iPhone 4s
has already reached halfway in surpassing the figures of the previous iPhones.
Analysts have predicted that September 12 is the
date chosen for the iPhone 5 to be formally introduced and it will officially
hit the stores on September 21. Although people are eagerly awaiting its
launch, the features and functionalities of iPhone 5 are still unknown. Rumors
are rife about the iPhone 5, some of which indicate that the model will be
slightly longer, slim and will use 4G LTE technology. These speculations and
predictions have not been confirmed by Apple, but the smartphone will clearly
not disappoint for sure.

The top spot in the smartphone market is
currently occupied by Samsung’s Galaxy S III, adding more fuel to the fire,
because Apple and Samsung are presently embroiled in a patent suit in a California court. The
numero uno being the coveted position as always, Apple will constantly have to
be a step ahead.
