Ship Finance International Limited (NYSE:SFL) stock
gained 1.27% to $15.98 after the company reported second quarter net income of
$61.23 million, or $0.77 per diluted share, as against $38.95 million, or $0.49
per diluted share, reported for the receding first quarter ended 31 March 2012.
Operating Income for the second quarter increased to $66.39 million from $48.22
million reported for the preceding first quarter of 2012. Analysts expected the
company to earn $0.37 per share for the quarter. Operating revenues on a
consolidated basis for the second quarter were $83.63 million, slightly lower
than revenue of $84.12 million reported for the preceding first quarter of
2012. Analysts expected revenues of $104.19 million for the quarter.
Ramtron International (NASDAQ:RMTR) shares fell
2.46% to $2.78 in the early hour after Cypress Semiconductor Corp. boosted its
all-cash offer for Ramtron International to $99 million, a move that comes
after the chip company had extended its hostile bid three times. Cypress is now
offering shareholders $2.88 a share, $0.20 a share more than its previous
per-share offering price.
Michael Kors Holdings Ltd (NYSE:KORS) stock gained
1.55% to $54.52. KORS, on August 21, has launched a competition utilising
photosharing app Instagram, asking consumers to flaunt their timepieces using
Instagram to be in the running to win a limited-edition Michael Kors watch.
Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) shares climbed 3.08% to
$31.45 in the early hour after the company continued its strategic investment
in product lifecycle management or PLM and has acquired certain assets of
Inforbix LLC, a software company focussing on cloud-based SaaS solutions. Terms
of the transaction were not disclosed.

Globus Medical Inc (NYSE:GMED) shares gained 1.20%
to $15.23 after Leerink Swann assumed coverage on shares of Globus Medical in a
report released yesterday and the firm issued an outperform rating on the
stock. Several other analysts have also recently commented on the stock.
Analysts at Piper Jaffray initiated coverage on shares of Globus Medical this
week and set an overweight rating and a $18.00 price target on the stock.
