Avanir Pharmaceuticals Falls On Earnings (ATPG, AUY, AVNR, CJES)

(USA) (NYSE:AUY) stock fell 0.33% to $14.94 in the after hour trading after the company posted second-quarter net earnings of $43 million or $0.06 per share, as compared to $195 million or $0.26 per share for the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings were $135 million or $0.18 earnings per share.  Revenues were $536 million in the second quarter, as compared with $573 million in the same quarter of 2011. Analysts expected the company to report earnings of $0.27 per share on revenues of $617.44 million for the quarter.

Avanir Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVNR) stock dropped 3.79% to $2.79 in the after hour trading after the company posted third quarter total net revenues of $10.5 million, as compared with $2.5 million for the comparable quarter in 2011. Total net revenues consist of NUEDEXTA revenue and royalty revenue from Abreva. Net loss was $15.0 million, or $0.11 per share, as compared with a net loss of $16.1 million, or $0.13 per share, for the same period in fiscal 2011.
