Fusion-IO gapped Up On Solid Earnings - DNN, DV, EVEP, FIO


Denison Mines Corp (USA) (NYSEAMEX:DNN) after the company reported a second-quarter net loss from continuing operations of $1.7 million or $0.01 per share, as compared to a net loss from continuing operations of $9.9 million or $0.03 per share in the comparable quarter last year. Total revenues for the latest quarter declined to $2.4 million from $11.8 million in the same quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to lose $0.02 per share for the quarter.

DeVry Inc. (NYSE:DV) reported a fourth quarter net income of $8.1 million or $0.12 per share from $75.2 million or $1.08 per share in the same period last year. Revenues totaled $505.9 million, down 7.5% from $546.8 million in the same quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to earn $0.44 per share on revenues of $506.20 million.

Fusion-IO, Inc. (NYSE:FIO) stock soared 28% to $26.89 in the opening session after the company fourth-quarter net loss of $2.39 million or $0.03 per share, as compared to net income of $5.76 million or $0.06 per share in the prior-year period. Adjusted net income for the fourth quarter was $9.85 million or $0.09 per share, down from $13.22 million or $0.15 per share in the year-ago quarter. Revenue surged 49% to $106.60 million from $71.69 million in the same period last year.

Looking ahead, the company expects first quarter revenue to increase modestly from the fourth quarter. However, for fiscal 2013, the company expects revenue growth in a range of 45% to 50%.

EV Energy Partners, L.P. (NASDAQ:EVEP) posted second-quarter profit of $15 million from $39.2 million in the year-ago quarter, due mainly to lower revenues. Interest net income was $14.7 million or $0.34 per share, as compared to $35.4 million or $1.03 per share in the same period last year. Revenues totaled $63.6 million, down from $69.6 million in the same quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to earn $0.41 per share on revenues of $85.20 million.
