Stocks With Top Headlines (OXGN, KKD, KYAK, SNPS)


OXiGENE, Inc. (NASDAQ:OXGN) announced that the company has amended the Limited Distribution Agreement, established in December 2011, with Azanta Danmark A/S to include additional territories. The territory originally included the European Union, including the Nordic countries and Switzerland, and Canada. The expanded territories now include Israel and South Korea. The Agreement provides a regulatory mechanism to allow healthcare professionals in Europe to prescribe ZYBRESTAT to individual ATC patients while it is still in development. Shares of OXGN rose 1%.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE:KKD) shares gained 5.20% to $7.31 on Thursday after the company reported a second quarter profit of $4.9 million, or $0.07 a share, down from $8.8 million, or $0.12 a share, a year earlier. Adjusted earnings rose to $0.12 a share from $0.06 a share. Revenue grew 4.3% to $102.1 million. Analysts had most recently forecast per-share earnings of five cents on revenue of $104 million.

Additionally, the company raised its earnings forecast for the year by a penny, now expecting $0.22 a share to $0.25 a share.

Kayak Software Corp (NASDAQ:KYAK) stock fell 2.80% to $29.94 after the company reported second quarter net income of $7.3 million, or $0.19 per share, from $3.8 million, or $0.10 per share, a year earlier. Adjusted earnings were 0.25 per share. Revenue rose 36% to $76.9 million. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.24 per share, on sales of $75.2 million.

Additionally, the company forecasted third-quarter revenue of $76 million to $78 million. Analysts on average were expecting revenue of $73.6 million.

Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNPS) reported third quarter net profit of $75.66 million or $0.50 per share, up from $52.08 million or $0.35 per share last year. Adjusted income was $82.33 million or $0.55 per share from $68.09 million or $0.46 per share in the prior-year quarter. Total revenues for the quarter grew 15% to $443.75 million from $386.80 million in the prior-year quarter. Analysts expected the company to earn $0.50 per share on revenue estimate of $443.94 million. Shares of SNPS soared 5.07% to $33.26.
