ValueVision Media Jumps On Earnings (VVTV, YTEC, SPLS, ANF, DE)


ValueVision Media, Inc. (NASDAQ:VVTV) shares jumped 12.79% to $1.95 in the morning hour after the company’s second quarter net sales rose 2.3% to $135.2 million from the same quarter last year, driven by sales improvements in the Watches, Fashion, Home and Beauty categories. The Company's net shipped units increased 7.0% in the second quarter versus the year-ago period and are up 12.7% year to date.

Yucheng Technologies Limited (NASDAQ:YTEC) stock increased 1.09% to $3.71 after the company reported second quarter total revenues of US$21.5 million, an increase of 35.7% year over year. Second quarter net income was US$1.2 million, or US$0.06 per share, as compared to US$1.6 million, or US$0.08 per share in the prior year period, and net income (Non-GAAP) was US$1.9 million, or US$0.10 per share, as compared to US$1.9 million, or US$0.10 per share in the prior year period.

Looking forward, the company expects third quarter of 2012 net revenue (non-GAAP) to be approximately USD22.0 million and net income (non-GAAP) per share of USD0.12. Analysts were expecting the Company to report revenue of $23.5 million for the third quarter of 2012.

Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLS) stock plunged 15.61% to $11.38 after the company posted second quarter net income of $120.43 million from $176.44 million in the same quarter last year. Earnings per share declined 28% to $0.18 from $0.25 a year ago. Total sales for the quarter fell 6% to $5.50 billion. Analysts expected earnings of $0.22 per share on revenues of $5.72 billion.

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (NYSE:ANF) shares climbed 9.34% to $35.35 in the early hour after the company posted second quarter net income of $15.52 million or $0.19 per share from $32.03 million or $0.35 per share in the prior year period. Net sales rose 4% to $951.41 million from $916.76 million in the same quarter last year. Analysts expected earnings of $0.17 per share on revenues of $993.98 million.

Deere & Company (NYSE:DE) shares declined 6.59% to $74.84 in the morning hour after the company posted third quarter net income of $788 million or $1.98 per share from last year's $712.3 million or $1.69 per share. Analysts expected earnings of $2.31 per share for the quarter. The company's worldwide net sales and revenues climbed 15% to $9.59 billion. Net sales of the equipment operations grew 16% to $8.93 billion, but missed analysts' consensus estimate of $9.53 billion for the quarter.
