Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL) has dumped Google
Inc(NASDAQ:GOOG) Maps for its own new mapping application i its new operating
software but according to reports, Google is waiting for the Cupertino company
to approve a new version of its Google Maps.
9to5Mac reported that Goole has submitted a new
version of its mapping application to Apple that can be used on its new iPhone
launched earlier this month.
Currently the new iPhone has the new Apple map app and
owners of the iPhone 4S will find their Google Maps replaced by Apple Maps when
they upgrade their software to iOS6.
The problem with Apple's mapping application is that
it is nowhere near as good as Google Maps. There have been reports of users of
the new app putting up hilarious stories of their experience with it.

Its 3D feature gives nightmarish images of well-known
monuments and structures, according to stories on Twitter and other social
media.
There are various reports on this issue. According to
TechCrunch the new Google Maps will not be available until the end of the year.
Last week Apple removed its YouTube app for iOS 6 and
Google released new version of YouTube app for Apple's new operating software.
All this bodes well for customers who swear by Google Maps, by the far among
the best location services available at the moment.
If there is sufficient criticism of Apple's new
mapping application it might just prod the company to approve the new version
of Google Maps.
Those who buy the iPhone5 may not have much choice but
users of older versions of the iPhone may now just stick to the older versions
of the iOS and wait till Google Maps is once again available.
