JA Solar Holdings Slumped 11% (XHTP, VRX, CBB, SAPX, BAH)


JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (ADR) (NASDAQ:JASO) shares fell 11.37% to $0.842 in the early hour. The company reported a second quarter loss of CNY457.8 million ($72 million), or CNY2.34 (37 cents) an American Depositary Share, versus a year-earlier loss of CNY228.9 million ($35.4 million), or CNY1.39 (22 cents) an ADS.  Revenue plummeted 32% to CNY1.8 billion ($284.4 million). Analysts most recently forecast a loss of $0.14 a share on revenue of $292.7 million.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals Int (USA) (NYSE:VRX) shares jumped 14.32% to $58.61 after the company said that it will pay $44 in cash for each share of Medicis Pharmaceutical, 39% more than the Aug. 31 closing price. The deal would be the largest for Valeant since it was created in a 2010 merger of Canada’s Biovail Corp. and an Aliso Viejo, California-based predecessor.

Cincinnati Bell Inc. (NYSE:CBB) shares gained 5.76% to $4.96. The company last week said that its call center and customer care partner StarTek is adding 136 employees in the Tri-State region it serves and transferring in jobs from overseas locations, more than doubling the size of its local call center operation.

Additionally, Cincinnati Bell’s shares was upgraded by analysts at Raymond James from an outperform rating to a strong-buy rating today.

Seven Arts Pictures plc (NASDAQ:SAPX) shares gained 4.62% to $1.36. The company confirmed today its 1-for-70 reverse split of its common stock that was effective immediately after the close of the markets on Friday. The new CUSIP number for the Company's common stock is 81783N 201. The company also announced that, subject to appropriate and required regulatory filings and approvals, it has declared a warrant dividend to those persons beneficially owning its common stock as of the close of the markets on August 31, 2012.

Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corporation (NYSE:BAH) stock increased 1.60% to $12.05. The 52 week trading range for the company is $11.91 - $19.23. The shares of the company fell 21% in the last one year. BAH is a provider of management and technology consulting services to the United States government in the defense, intelligence and civil markets.
