Nokia Corporation Gapped Up (NOK, BIDU, INX, PFE, BUD)


Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) shares gained 3.19% to $2.91 after the company announced that it has launched its free music streaming service Nokia Music in the United States. Nokia Music is a free mobile experience exclusive to Nokia Lumia handsets. Consumers can stream music from a suite of over 150 exclusive playlists that are curated and kept up to date by a team of United States-based musicologists.

According to news leaks, one of the phones will be the high end Nokia Lumia 920. This will replace the Nokia Lumia 900. The new phone will be Nokia’s flagship Windows phone with some really impressive features.  Sources have revealed that this phone will provide for wireless charging.  An inductive method will support this feature, wherein the device will be lined up to the contacts on a charge pad.  Not only that, they also say that since this will follow the Qi wireless power standard, it will be compatible with other products that charge wirelessly.

Baidu.com, Inc. (ADR) (NASDAQ:BIDU) said it would invest almost 10 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) in a cloud computing center. Further details were not revealed by the company like as where the center would be placed and how it was going to finance the center.

In-Touch Survey Systems Ltd. (CVE:INX), on August 29, reported second quarter revenue of $2,947,069, 71% higher than revenue of $1,722,998 in the same quarter last year. Adjusted EBITDA increased 93% to $493,000 in the second quarter, as compared to an adjusted EBITDA of $255,000 in Q2 2011.

Additionally, the company acquired Service Intelligence on Aug 4, 2011 with the intent of migrating all of SI's services and products onto In-Touch platforms.

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) stock fell 0.17% to $23.82 after the company announced that the European Commission (EC) has granted marketing authorization for INLYTA (axitinib) for the treatment of adult patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC), a type of kidney cancer, after failure of prior treatment with sunitinib or a cytokine. INLYTA, a kinase inhibitor, is an oral therapy that was designed to selectively inhibit vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptors 1, 2 and 3, which are proteins that can influence tumor growth, vascular angiogenesis and progression of cancer (tumor spread).

Anheuser-Busch InBev NV (ADR) (NYSE:BUD) is said to be the presenting sponsor of wild-card games through 2018 as part of a new agreement between MLB and the beverage giant. The deal also has Budweiser taking on two other new presenting sponsor slots: that of MLB’s opening week, as well as a concert series held at the league’s Fan Cave. The new MLB deal is the Budweiser brand’s biggest sponsorship and extends their 33-year partnership.
