Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL)
has sent invitations to a few members of the media to a special event to be
held on 23rd October, which happens to be a Tuesday, at 10 am PT.
the venue is the California Theatre in San Jose, California. The invitation
features the top of a white Apple logo over a sand art background with a
caption ‘We’ve got a little more to show you’.
It seems obvious that
Apple that Apple will launch a new 7.85-inch iPad mini at the event. However,
the main question is what more could Apple announce at the much-hyped event?
A host of rumors came
up with different suggestions that Apple may announce a number of other pieces
of new hardware at the event. The list includes a 13-inch MacBook Pro with
Retina Display, Ivy Bridge Mac Mini, Updated 10-inch iPad and refreshed iMacs.
It is not likely to
declare five new hardware products on 23rd October. However, it is
not odd that there may be at least 2 or 3 of the tweaks in the announcement. A
13-inch Retina Display MacBook Pro is highly probable.
It is not clear whether
the new iPad mini will be Wi-fi only or if it will come with LTE connectivity
like its big brother.
It was initially
thought that Apple would host a press conference on 17th October to
declare the iPad Mini. There also have been rumors that materials used to make
the device are triggering issues that could explain the reports of multiple
release dates.
DigiTimes reported this
month that Apple suppliers are facing delays of the smaller iPad. Quoting
sources, the blog reports that the smaller iPad will be susceptible to
scratches owing to its anodized finish.
If Apple launches a
13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, it may share similar specifications.
Shares of AAPL are up
about 3%.
