Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL)’s fifth generation iPod Touch,
which was launched, last month, is available to be shipped now.
Those who had pre-ordered the iPod Touch have said
that their order statuses have shifted to `Preparing for Shipment'.
At the time when the pre-orders were being taken,
delivery was set for October though there are no specific dates mentioned.
Prospective owners have also been reporting that their
credit cards have been charged, a sure sign that the devices are available for
sale now.
The new upgraded version of the iPod Touch has the
same 4-inch display as in the iPhone 5 and is available in various colour
schemes.
The move toward availability comes just after users
noted yesterday that shipping estimates for new orders of the fifth-generation
iPod touch through the Apple Online Store in Australia had shifted from the
vague "October" to "3 weeks", Mac Rumours reported.
"Those following through and placing orders were
finding an expected delivery date of October 29. A similar shift was seen in
the New Zealand online store, with deliveries there scheduled for November
2," it said.
Mac Rumours said that new orders would be delivered
after the first batch of pre-orders is shipped.
