After months of supposed
leaked pictures and mass production reports, there may be an end to the iPad
mini rumors. Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to hold an event that requires
invitation later this month to introduce a smaller iPad to the world, just
about in time for the holiday time.
Apple is predicted to hold
the aforementioned event on 23rd October to release a smaller iPad,
as per AllthingsD. The publication cites people, who hold knowledge about
Apple’s plans. They suggest that the event will happen at Apple’s Town Hall
Auditorium. An iPad mini, if that is the name Apple chooses for its smaller
tablet, will project to around 8 million sales this holiday season, as analysts
at RBC Capital Markets said.
Ever since the original
iPad had debuted in the year 2010, Apple has been confident about its present
9.7 inches tablet is a perfect size for the line up. However, after using a
smaller 7-inch Samsung tablet, Apple executives have reconsidered the idea.
From the reports, a small iPad may be on its way to the market. This decision
made by the firm can result in success of a recent 7-inches line up like
Google’s Nexus 7 tablet and Amazon’s Kindle Fire.
With a number of product
image leaks and reports of mass production that have been coming up over the last
few months, Apple is possibly working on smaller iPad. However, the company is
known for prototyping and experimenting any number of different products and
form factors. The question still remains – will there be an iPad Air or an iPad
Mini in the near future? It seems so. It will be evident very soon as reports
say that invitations to the reported event would be out very soon.
