Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) to launch new range of Nexus Phones on Oct. 29


Google Inc(NASDAQ:GOOG) is scheduled to hold an event on October 29, where it is expected to unveil its new generation of Nexus Phones as well as a new version of Android called Key Lime Pie.

It may be recalled that Google had launched the Galaxy Nexus last year in partnership with Samsung. It also has a tablet Nexus 7 in partnership with ASUS. There are rumours doing the rounds that the price of its Nexus 7 tablets to $99.

It will now be releasing a new Nexus phone with LG Electronics. There already have been leaks of the new phones in several technology sites and there are rumours that it has a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a large HD Display.

There have been talks of a Sony Nexus as well though this still seems to be in the realms of speculation. The Wall Street Journal had reported as far back as in May that Google was working with several partners for its next line-up of Nexus devices.

Incidentally on October 29, Microsoft will also be releasing its Windows 8 operating system for mobiles, which is being held in San Francisco. Just a week earlier the company will be releasing the Windows 8 for computers and tablets while Apple will be ready to unveil its iPad Mini.

Just a few days later, Nokia’s Lumia smartphones will go on sale, in Europe first, according to reports. Amazon’s Kindle Fire Tablets, which is awaiting regulatory approval, will also be going on sale in November.
