Slump? Find Out Here
Apple's retail stores earn $6,050 per square foot,
while Tiffany earns $3,017 per square foot. Simply put, Apple stores generate
double the cash generated by Tiffany’s per square foot.
These two companies are however way ahead of the
competition since the third most profitable, Lulu Lemon Athletic, earns $1,936
per square foot, the data revealed.
Tiffany's is an iconic American chain, primarily known
as a retailer of high-end jewellery but also selling other accessories
including leather goods.
Apple, as we know, sells communication devices such as
smartphones and tablet PCs, computing devices such as Mac desktops and laptops
and entertainment devices such as the iPods.
Apple retains its top slot for the second year despite
the fact that the company said that there was a dip in the growth rate of same-store
sales, a key metric in determining sales growth for retailers.
The Retail Sails data also showed that the iPhone
maker has also cracked into the club of top ten retailers with the highest
overall sales per store.
Apple was No. 9, behind wholesale retailers like
Costco and Sam's Club, as well as Neiman Marcus and Walmart.
Retail Sails surveyed about 200 American retailers,
across 15 sectors, operating more than 200,000 stores and generating revenues
of more than $1.6 trillion.
