Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) Lumia 830 Leaked, AT&T Offers Nokia Lumia 920 For $99

Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) Lumia 830 Leaked, AT&T Offers Nokia Lumia 920 For $99
As the reports reveal, Nokia Corporation (ADR)(NYSE:NOK) has another Windows phone lined up. The Nokia Lumia 830 will confusingly be a lower-end handset, when compared to the Lumia 820.

The Lumia 920 is definitely the successor to the Lumia 900. However, the Lumia 820 is the updated Lumia 800. That makes the Lumia 830 the sequel to the Lumia 710 from last year.

The Nokia Lumia 830 is supposed to come in 5 different colors. Unfortunately, there has been no more information regarding its insides. Also, there has been no divulgence regarding the date of release.

In other news, AT&T is offering the flagship smartphone from Nokia, the Lumia 920 for $99 and the Nokia Lumia 820 for $49.99 to people, who are willing to agree on a 2-year contract.

The cost of the Lumia 920 that is powered by the Windows 8 operating system of Microsoft is cheaper than its competitors. Samsung’s Galaxy Note II is being offered at $299 and Apple’s iPhone 5 is being offered at $199 from AT&T on a two-year contract.

EVP for Nokia’s Global sales and Marketing division, Chris Weber explained that the price offering for the Nokia Lumia 920 is lower than expectations since AT&T decided to finance some of the expenses so as to persuade more consumers to subscribe to its network and commit on a 2-year contract. Weber said that carrier subsidies are always a decision that is taken by the mobile carrier, but they help bringing a product to an exceptionally compelling price point.

AT&T also boosted the competitiveness of the Nokia Lumia 920 by offering the wireless charging pad free of cost to customers, who will buy the product early. The offer will be available for a short span of time.  An analyst from Current analysis, Avi Greengart said that Nokia is more focused on selling a large amount of its smartphones to set up a customer base and amplify its market stock rather than generating higher profit.
