Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) Unveils Its Rock-Cutting Priced Lumia 620


Nokia Corporation (ADR)(NYSE:NOK) has unveiled the latest and the most updated addition to its Lumia series – the new Nokia Lumia 620. Positioned as a budget Windows Phone 8 handset, the Nokia Lumia 620 is a highly competitive smartphone when the price point of the phone is considered.
In addition to the price factor, the latest Nokia smartphone offers its users a more fun, funky and youthful appeal sporting a 3.8 inch display. Novel in design, the phone is equipped with the 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB of RAM, as well as NFC connectivity.
This smartphone also carries the signature experiences from Nokia, like Nokia lenses, Nokia Maps and Nokia Music.
Like the other Lumia models viz a viz the Nokia Lumia 820 and the Nokia Lumia 920, the new Nokia Lumia 620 is also supported with Nokia's proprietary lenses technology in its VGA front-facing and five-megapixel cameras.
According to Jo Harlow, the executive Vice President of Nokia Smart Devices, this new smartphone will also flaunt a new utility feature of customization for its shell. Equipped with the “dual-shot colour technique” which is backed with seven varied replaceable shells with colours lime green, orange, magenta, yellow, cyan, white and black, the device provides for a variety of colour blends and depth effects. Scheduled for an early release the next year, the phone’s initial price would be $ 254.
Shares of the company soared as much as 12.79% to close at multi-year high of $3.88.

  1. Nokia are doing all the right things by releasing phones that stand out amongst the sea of bland devices. They are also adding some of their high end features to a low price point so are likely to gain traction at both important ends of the market.

    Bringing their experience by providing a modern version of their original express on covers is another good move.

    Lets hope they keep up the inventiveness as it will help keep them viewed as innovative and this is a key customer driver.
