Amylin Pharmaceuticals Hits New Highs (BBY, GOOG, YELP, JNPR, AMLN)



Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE: BBY) shares fell 1.11% to $26.63 in the early hour. The company is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter 2012 financial results on March 29, 2012, at approximately 8:00 a.m. EST with a conference call to follow at 10:00 a.m. EST. Analysts are expecting the company to report a profit of $2.16 a share on revenue of $17.21 billion.

Google Inc (NASDAQ: GOOG) gained 0.89% to $652.81 in the early hour after Citigroup’s Mark Mahaney reiterated a Buy rating on Google and also raised the company’s price target to $750 from $680. Analysts said that Google shares are trading flat YTD, underperforming the S&P 500.

Juniper Networks, Inc. (NYSE: JNPR) increased 0.09% to $22.25 in the early hour on 6.34 million shares. The 52 week trading range for the company is $16.67 -$42.27. Juniper Networks designs, develops, and sells products and services that together provide its customers with network infrastructure.

Yelp Inc (NYSE: YELP) increased 6.22% to $29.37 on a volume of 3.63 million shares – 1.5x times its average volume on no official news. The company has made a new 52 week high today on $31.96. Yelp Inc. (Yelp), formerly Yelp! Inc., connects people with local businesses. Its users contribute reviews of every type of local business, from restaurants, boutiques and salons to dentists, mechanics and plumbers.

Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMLN) surged 48.47% to $22.85 in the morning hour. The shares are trading on an unusual volume of 27.32 million shares which is 9x times its average volume. The company has also made a new 52 week high today at $23.50. The company has today rejected an offer from Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMY) for $3.5 billion or $22 a share, as per Bloomberg.
