Collective Brands Jumps On Acquisition report (PSS, DKS, PNR, BCOV, WOR )
Collective Brands Inc. (NYSE: PSS) increased 8.79% to multi-month high of $20.06 in the morning hour on media reports. According to South Korea's Maeil Business Newspaper, E-Land Inc. is considering a bid for Collective Brand Inc. as E-Land in order to expand overseas and is working with institutional investors to raise $1.8 billion in funding.
Dicks Sporting Goods Inc (NYSE: DKS) fell 0.33% to $47.85 in the early hour. The 52 week trading range for the company is $29.10 - $49.97. Shares of DKS have jumped over 5% in the current month after the company reported strong fourth quarter earnings in early March. The company earned $111.1 million, or 88 cents a share on revenue of $1.61 billion, compared to a year ago profit of $87.5 million or 71 cents a share on revenue of $1.52 billion, topping analysts’ estimates of 88 cents a share on revenue of $1.61 billion. The company projected to earn $2.38 to $2.41 a share in FY2012.
Pentair, Inc. (NYSE:PNR) fell 0.26% to $46.20 in the early hour. Yesterday, the stock was up over 6% after hitting record high of $48.77 as Pentair and Tyco International announced a definitive agreement to combine Tyco's Flow Control business with Pentair in a tax-free, all-stock merger. The transaction values Tyco Flow at approximately $4.9 billion. The company is projecting to boost its EPS by 40 cents in FY2013 following the deal and achieve $5 a share by 2015.
Brightcove Inc (NASDAQ:BCOV) continued to move higher and another 0.63% to $23.89, extending its weekly gain to over 13%. The stock is one of the top IPO performers of the year with the stock gained over 116% in about a month from its IPO price of $11. Yesterday, analyst at Morgan Stanley started coverage on the stock with an equal-weight, or neutral, rating.
