Amerigroup Corporation Soars On Buyout News (FX, AGP, WCG, CNC)


FX Alliance Inc (NYSE:FX) shares soared 39.62% to $21.92 in the morning hour after Thomson Reuters Corp. today said that it would pay $22 a share in cash to buy FX Alliance Inc. The price values FX at a premium of about 40% over its closing price of $15.70 a share on Friday. Thomson Reuters plans to close the deal in the third quarter.

AMERIGROUP Corporation (NYSE:AGP) stock surged 38.06% to $88.83 in the early hour after WellPoint, Inc. and Amerigroup announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement through which WellPoint will acquire Amerigroup. Under the terms of the agreement, WellPoint will pay $92.00 per share in cash to acquire all of the outstanding shares of Amerigroup for a transaction value of approximately $4.9 billion.

WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE:WCG) stock climbed 13.31% to $59.86 in the morning hour. WellCare of Florida, Inc. and the WellCare Community Foundation, two affiliated subsidiaries of WellCare Health Plans, on July 2, 2012, said that they have joined the Children's Home Society of Florida Champions for Children campaign. As part of the commitment, WellCare has pledged $250,000 over a period of three years to support the campaign.

Centene Corp (NYSE:CNC) shares climbed 11.86% to $32.36 in the early hour. On July 5, 2012, Former United States Securities and Exchange Commission attorney Willie Briscoe, founder of The Briscoe Law Firm, PLLC, and the securities litigation firm of Powers Taylor, LLP announce that the firms are investigating legal claims against the officers and Board of Directors of Centene Corporation, related to potential securities violations by Centene between February 7, 2012 and June 8, 2012.
