Ciena Corporation (NASDAQ:CIEN) went up 0.88% to $16.14. Ciena Corporation announced that the Company and its BizConnect Platinum partner Telrad, have been selected by Cal to build a high-capacity, low-latency private optical network connecting its new data centre in Yehud to its main facilities in Giv`atayim. The metro network was recently installed in an aggressive timeframe and allows Cal to address business growth and local disaster recovery requirements.

Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) jumped up 2.05% to $597.01. According to the New York Times, Apple Inc talked in recent months with Twitter Inc about making an investment in the social media site in the hundreds of millions of dollars. The newspaper said that the value of Twitter could more than $10 billion.

Texas Instruments Incorporated (NASDAQ:TXN) is currently trading at $27.33. The Company intends to offer approximately $1.0 billion of senior unsecured notes. Actual terms of the notes, including interest rate, principal amount, redemption provisions and maturity will depend on market conditions at the time of pricing. The Company intends to use the net proceeds of this offering for general corporate purposes.

Trina Solar Limited (ADR) (NYSE:TSL) declined 2.96% to $5.25 after the Company provided an update on the second quarter 2012. The Company expects solar module shipments in the second quarter of 2012 to be between 390 MW to 420 MW. The Company will announce its second quarter 2012 results on August 21, 2012.

Arrow Electronics Inc (NYSE:ARW) went down 0.83% to $34.58. The Company reported second quarter profit of $114.4 million or $1.02 per share compared to $156.2 million or $1.33 per share in the prior year period. Revenue decreased 7% to $5.15 billion. The Company forecasted earnings per share of $1.08 to $1.20 per share on revenue between $5.04 billion and $5.44. billion. Gross margin declined to 13.3% from 13.9%. Sales in the components division decreased 11%.
