A strong
speculation is rife in the technology market; due to sources from Apple
Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL)’s upstream supply chain stating that mass shipments of new
iMac all-in-one PCs and Retina Display 13.3-inch MacBook Pros in September have
begun.
Apple is targeting two key parameters to
boost the sales of the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro - back-to-school demand and the
year-end holidays. This is the main reason why the launch is being anticipated
in September or October.
Apple also had big plans for the iMac.
Three brand new versions of the product were to be launched simultaneously and
were supposed to be state-of-the-art with upgraded panels and superbly
efficient CPU’s, but the mass production of the high-end iMac had to be stopped
due to low quality yield of the panels. That is why the launch date or even the
approximate launch period remains unknown. However, the other models, which are
aimed at the entry-level and mid-range sectors, experienced an increase in
shipment volumes from the supply chain in September.
Will
AAPL Hit $1000 By This Year? Find Out Here
Apple constituted 2.8% of worldwide
desktop shipments in the 2nd quarter, having dispatched 1.01 million
iMacs. This brings the total of both quarters to 2.23 million units, thereby
catapulting Apple to the position of the fifth-largest desktop vendor in the
world. But it still retains its numero uno position when only the all-in-one PC
section is considered, as it is the
largest vendor in that segment.
