Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Stabbed By Samsung Again Through Its Latest Print Ad

Samsung has apparently decided to drop all pretence of class as it blatantly targets Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 5 in its all-new Galaxy S3 print advertisement.

All newspapers in the USA are going to have this piece of news by tomorrow. Samsung aims at making iPhone 5 look low-end compared to the Galaxy S3 through its print ad.

The new advertisement comes with the claim that ‘the next big thing is already here’. It seems Samsung is not yet over its failure in high stakes legal battle with Apple over infringement issues back in August. Publishing an advert directly targeting products of Apple with its own – the move is bold, particularly after losing the court case to Apple.

The print ad says ‘It doesn’t take a genius’. This apparently refers to in-store Apple experts and the online referral system for the App Store and iTunes. It also emphasizes on the fact that consumers are likely to go for Galaxy S3 as it comes with a large number of features, when compared to the iPhone 5. The list of features displayed, however, seems biased as some of the integral features of the iPhone 5 have been omitted, including iCloud, iTunes integration and FaceTime. Also, iOS is brand new whereas Android 4.0 is almost a year old now.

This move by Samsung is not being seen as a mature way to market a product. There is no denying the fact that Samsung Galaxy S3 is an incredible device. However, the marketing punch-line could have focussed on its own stellar features rather than comparing with Apple’s iPhone 5. there is a rumour that Samsung is working on a video ad featuring people lined up, waiting for the launch of new iPhone while ogling at Samsung’s latest Galaxy smartphone.
Apple’s fans have already started working on the parodies of the ad and some of them are already making rounds on the internet.

  1. My colleague at work has a Samsung SIII and I cannot believe how cheap and plasticky it looks.

    The Iphone 5 is made of brushed aluminium so at least it should look a quality product!

  2. Sure, what only matters is the externals not the internals. Welcome to 2010 Galaxy S original with 4" and 4G.

    1. lol @ 4G in 2010.. enjoy that 3-5 hour battery life. Enjoy carrying around extra batteries as a necessity just to make it through a normal day. iPhone 4S was the best phone ever made, only surpassed by the 5 from what we know about it so far.

    2. My iPhone 4S battery dies in 3 1/2 Hours. Used to last 7, then half a year later... You know the drill.

  3. Wow, if ever there was an article written by an iPhone fan this was it. Who else would call out an advert by a rival as being biased? What else should it be – pro Apple? And what on earth are you talking about saying that the iOS6 O/S is brand new? It's the same old interface, with the same old icons, and same old lack of notifications. The only reason it sells is because iSheep buy it because they know they’ll be accepted as cool by their peers. Be original, be bold, express yourself and choose some thing new for a change. The SGS3 and Lumia 920 are the best of the other O/Ss and both are superior phones to the iPhone5

    1. So by that logic you should buy an iPhone since presumably you don't have one.

      Listen, this Samsung vs Nokia vs iPhone comparison and flamewars are fun but the reality is that a majority of users will upgrade to the iPhone5 because (a) they are part of the Apple ecosystem (b) the iPhone works for them and they are familiar with the use (c) there is no compelling reason to switch yet

      Now there are people who may enjoy a larger 4.8 screen - for them a Samsung or Nokia would be a perfect choice.

  4. lol. Samsung is really trying hard now. How can you compare the two? Ones plastic and full of stupid childish features you would never use.

  6. This explains how desperate Samsung is.. when people hold the iphone 5 and Samsung galaxy in their hand, they can tell the difference between Rolex and Timex;

    1. Ummm for the earlier versions of the iphone they were made using SAMSUNG technology and parts. The only reason they have dropped Samsung as a supplier and tech consultant is because it's obvious they are responsible for apples success and don't want any further cresit given to them. I've had and iphone and Note and the note is the winner by far. It's whats inside that counts. Most importantly to each their own.

    iCould is basically Google Sync. Nothing special there. Everybody abhors iTunes. It's slow, and makes the whole ecosystem closed. Facetime? It is just like Skype.
