Advanced Micro Devices,
Inc.(NYSE:AMD) is planning on making it big this holiday season by the pepping
up the competition with a one-two combo that includes a new
performance-enhanced Catalyst driver kit and some great game bundles.
Subscribers of the Never
Settle Game Bundle will receive a maximum of three games for free of charge.
They would also get a coupon offering 20 percent off on Medal of Honor
Warfighter with the purchase of selected graphics card. The best part is yet to
come.
The Never Settle agreement
is not tied to any particular GPU partner. This implies that people can head to
Amazon or Newegg and purchase any AMD card that is specified to qualify for the
promotion. Additionally, there are grabs for Far Cry 3, Sleeping Dogs and
Hitman Absolution. All of the games are free with the purchase of an AMD Radeon
HD 7900 Series graphics card. It is a killer deal considering people can buy a
Radeon HD 7970 for as little as $390 street or even less if they are ready to
jump through mail-in-rebate hoops.
Budget builder can buy
Radeon HD 7770 GHz version qualifies for a free edition of Far Cry 3 apart from
20% off on Medal of Honor Warfighter. The latter applies to each tier in the
Never Settle Series.
This is probably one of the
best promotions that AMD has ever come up with, both in terms of flexibility
and value. Also, AMD claims its Catalyst 12.11 release makes it even better by
delivering up to 15% higher framerates in games like Dirt Showdown, Sleeping
Dogs, Battlefield, Medal of Honor Warfighter and much more. AMD seems to be
pretty excited with performance bump.
MaximumPC ran a test bed consisting
of Intel Core i7 3960X Extreme Edition processor, AX1200 Crosair power supply,
16GB DDR3 1600 RAM and Windows Ultimate 64-bit version.
