Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s new office for central
and Eastern Europe has already generated a lot of interest right from the time
it was announced. The new location will be Warsaw
in Poland .
The office is situated at the Zlote Tarasy mall and office center, right next
to the city’s main railroad station. It was inaugurated on Thursday and will
include 30 countries and some 46 million users.
According to ZDNet, the new office in Warsaw will
help to ease the work of Facebook’s European headquarters in Dublin. ZDNet
further reported that there are approximately 9 million Facebook users in Poland . Diego
Oliva, Facebook’s regional director for southern, central, and Eastern Europe
will take charge of the Warsaw
office. She also manages the offices in Middle East and Africa .
Earlier this month, a Careers page was developed
by Facebook for Warsaw .
The much-awaited annual event from the social network, called Facebook
Developer World Hack 2012, is also being held in the city.
