Google Inc(NASDAQ:GOOG)
has announced a lot of new hardware updates through blog post, after an event
that was supposed to take place in New York was cancelled
in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy.
Some of the significant
items included:
The Nexus 4 smartphone
that is developed with LG. it comes with a 4.2 inch display, a quad core
processor and a wireless charging feature that allows a user to power the phone
by setting it down on a charging service. It operates on Android 4.2, Jelly
Bean. A feature called Photo Sphere helps in creating 360 degree panoramas. The
phone is supposed to go on sale on 13th November for $299.
The Nexus 7 is now
available on Wi-Fi devices that are priced at $199 for 16 GB and $249 for 32
GB. Google is also working on a version that will come with HSPA+ cellular
connection. It is supposed to go on sale on 13th November.
The Nexus 10 tablet is
developed with Samsung. It offers the highest resolution screen in the tablet
marketplace, as Google claims. It will come with 9 hours of video playback. It
also has an account switching feature that allows multiple users to share the
tablet more simply. The 16 GB model is priced at $399 and the 32 GB model is
priced at $499. It is slated to hit the stores on 14th November.
Google has also
declared an update to Google Now, a predictive search feature that offers
information on a series of cards without the user having to search. The cards
will display information on flights, restaurants, hotels and shipping details
other than regular traffic and weather information.
Google is introducing
music to Europe on 13th November on Google Play. People residing in
Spain, Italy, Germany, France and the UK will be able to buy songs from the
Google Play store.
