Google Inc(NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Nexus 7 tablet has
started showing up on the recognizable web traffic radar after its release that
took place a few months back. As per the new data released by Chitika, an
advertising firm, Google’s share of tablet traffic has shot up 135%since the
month of July and now holds fourth rank among Android tablets. It is a solid
start since everyone has to start at zero in the starting.
In spite of the early success, web traffic coming
from tablets still is a one-sided affair favoring Apple. The company’s iPad is
worth for more than 90% of all tablet traffic, as per Chitika’s last count. The
company was compelled to force to represent other tablet impressions in terms
of impressions for every 100 iPads.
Android’s most popular web surfing tablet,
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is followed by Barnes & Noble’s Nook tablet.
Google’s Nexus 7 is just after the Galaxy Tab 7 at 0.85 impressions for each
100 iPad impressions.
Chitika has noted that the tablet industry has
gone through some critical changes over the last year and even in the recent
days. Google’s Nexus 7, Barnes & Noble’s Nook and Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD
have aided in validating the 7-inch marketplace.
Things are supposed to be more interesting as
this year comes to an end. Apple’s new iPad mini is likely to challenge the
7-inch tablets while Microsoft will put an impression in the full-size iPad’s
monopoly in the 10-inch tablet industry.
