Nokia Corporation (ADR)(NYSE:NOK) launched its
first two Windows 8 smartphones the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920, in an effort to
strengthen their erstwhile position in the market and re-build the brand image
that it once had. A surprising revelation followed right after – a brand new
Nokia phone using the Windows Phone 7 platform will soon be available in the
market.
The smartphone goes by the name of Nokia Lumia
510. The information has been revealed by the guys over at GSMArena who managed
to gain access to an image of the phone and its specifications.
One of the reasons for this move on the company’s
part is that to own a Windows smartphone at a reasonable rate, Windows Phone 7
is the perfect choice. Microsoft’s standards of minimum specification for its Windows
Phone 8 operating system are quite high, which why Nokia might release similar
Windows Phone 7 smartphones in the coming years.
The Nokia Lumia 510 will have the following
specifications:
·
4 inch touch-screen
·
800MHz processor powering the phone.
·
256MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board memory
·
Version 7.8 of the Windows Phone operating maybe
pre-loaded.
The beginning of 2013 might be the launch period
of Nokia Lumia 510 and the expected price is around £100.
