Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Posts Teaser on its Australian Website about its Annual Black Friday Sale

When Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL) thinks of something, you can bet it will be something innovative on a large scale. The company is planning to have a sale at its retail outlets and online Friday in step with Black Friday. This day, denotes the day after Thanksgiving, which in turn officially heralds the start of the holiday shopping season.

Macrumors reports that a special announcement regarding the sale has already been posted on Apple's Australian site, where it is Tuesday, according to the difference in time zones. The company has not provided any information about which products will be on sale and what is the percentage of discount offered to customers. But that list is always leaked out some days before the sale starts. According to the sales figures of last year, the discounts range between $41 to $61 on Apple's iPad 2, and $101 on Apple's notebook and desktop computers.

The year-end sale stands out because this is the only time of the year, when Apple offers discounts on their new or recently unveiled products, apart from when they are offered as a revamped version or discontinued. There has been a flurry of products from Apple’s stable in the last month such as the introduction of the iPad mini, new iMacs, a 13-inch model of its MacBook Pro with Retina Display, and a fourth-generation iPad.

The sale will last only for 24 hours, which in Australia will begin at 2:01 a.m. local time on November 23 and end at 1:59 a.m. the following day. Sales might also be announced in other locations such as Europe, later in the day.
