Though the formal announcement of the new touchscreen
BlackBerry 10 handset by Research In Motion Limited (USA)(NASDAQ:RIMM) would be
on January 30th next year, the L Series Blackberry 10 phone has been
leaked yet again. The news which was leaked appeared in CrackBerry.com’s forum
where the yet to be launched touchscreen BlackBerry 10 is compared to
BlackBerry Bold 9700. Several pictures which were published showed proximity
with the BlackBerry Bold 9700.
The pictures that were revealed also highlighted
that the L Series appeared the same as it did back in September, when it last
appeared with the N Series phone. The long, black chassis remains, while the
front has the slight look of Sony’s Xperia range to it, thanks to the edgeless
screen. When placed next to the BlackBerry Bold, the new phone appeared quite
long. This L Series handset is one of two phones on which Research in Motion
will launch the BlackBerry 10 operating system next year, where it will be
joined by the more traditional QWERTY keyboard-equipped N Series. Though not much
information has been provided on the specifications of the phone, but if we go
by the rumours that have been long prevailing the phone has a 4.2-inch screen
with a 1280 x 768 pixel resolution, and a dual-core processor should be hiding
inside.
Despite of the concerns of Research in Motion
missing the first quarter release date, the company is set to have a global
launch event for BlackBerry 10 and the L Series, where both phones and the new
software will finally make their public debut. Kristian Tear, the COO stated
that the BB10 handsets will on sale within 30 days of that event. This means
it’ll make its self-imposed deadline, but only by a whisker.
