The excitement over the iPhone 5 has yet to die down
and already the iPhone 6 has started creating a buzz.
According to reports and rumours the next version of
the smartphone from Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL) is slated to be released somewhere
in the middle of 2013.
It might be called the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, that has
yet to be decided. Apple might finally decide to go with what the market dubs
it as.
Incidentally the iPhone 5 has yet to be released in
China, one of the largest markets for smartphones. Incidentally there are
reports that the company may launch its new generation phone earlier in China -
maybe during the summer of 2013.
Again the iPad Mini and the new iPad 4 were also
recently released by Apple but already the company is learnt to have hired a
couple of firms to work on updates to the devices. The firms are chipmaker
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and packaging group Advanced
Semiconductor Engineering.
Apple sold 26.9 million iPhone units and 14 million
iPad units in business Q4 2012.
A report in the DigiTimes said, “Apple is expected to
introduce its next-generation iPad and iPhone series around the middle of 2013,
which will boost demand for ICs in particular communications-related chips
during the latter half of the first quarter.”
Its early days yet and features of the new iOS devices
are yet to be leaked out but reports suggest that the new updated version of
the iPad Mini will have retina display, which means a higher resolution
display.
Apple is also listening to suggestions made by iPhone
users as to what changes they would like in the next generation phone.
According to TechRadar, iPhone users want a larger phone in terms of width and
not in length.
